Immediate skin-to-skin contact may have beneficial effects on the cardiorespiratory stabilization in very preterm infants

This study in a high-resource setting indicates that infants born very preterm may have improved cardiorespiratory stabilisation when cared for in SSC with a parent immediately after birth. Thus, immediate SSC is feasible and may be the desirable standard of care for the VPT infant.
