SBBC Phase I included 30 Tanzanian health facilities from 2021 through 2023, resulting in significant reduction in both perinatal and maternal deaths. 

The total cost for implementing SBBC Phase I was 4,491,204 USD. The cost per life saved was 4,669 USD, per life year gained 80 USD, and per disability-adjusted life year averted 144 USD, and the benefit–cost ratio was 36. SBBC Phase I was highly cost-effective according to the World Health Organization classifications.
