The Newborn Resuscitation Monitor is placed in all the labour rooms at Haydom Lutheran Hospital, where data from over 1600 newborn resuscitation cases has been collected during the Safer Births project.
The analysis from this data is used to describe the transition from intrauterine to extrauterine life, as well as the characteristics and effects of bag mask ventilation.
With this information, we have been able to better understand the link between bag-mask-ventilation treatment, newborn response, and newborn outcomes, and thus come up with therapy and training solutions that can support improved quality of care and decision-making.
